MEET MY LOVER

my first experimental website

Thoughts....

Meet my lover is a work about LOVE, specifically, SELF LOVE

This website is meant to be an experimental way of experiencing a poem. Websites are usually very straighforward, but I wanted to change it and play with it as I learned HTML and CSS. The aesthetic is minimalistic, using pictures that have a vintage and surreal look, the background uses Yves Klein blue color code because I love that color. I wanted the text to seem as if someone had handwritten the poem, just as a quick and rough but genuine version of the poem. For the website to be intuitive as to how to navigate it, but also give it an abstract aspect.

I wrote this poem you read in the website thinking about how most of the times, poems people write are for others or about others. I wanted to write it for myself, for me and only me, and hoping people would relate to that. Self love is often out of our priorities, we are always thinking how to love someone else correctly, how to live up to everybody's expectations, and we forget of our expectations, and learning how to love ourselves. I hope to further expand this topic in my work, and use what I have learned in website developement and creative coding to do so.

Further on, now that I feel more comfortable with HTML and CSS, I would love to keep on doing websites to show my creative work as well as the creative work of other people. I find it often boring to look at museum websites to see and learn about a specific art piece, it would be fun if websites tried to be as immersive as the work itself, so people feel more compelled to learn more about it. Also, experimenting with it and turning a website into a non intuitive, abstract and out of the box would be in my thoughts as well.
