You Just Got Dumped

my website working with local storage

A website about good ol' dumpin'.

This website has to do with how a person deals with a broken heart.

This website is meant to be a guide for a brokenhearted person. I used me and my friends experience to write it, and also the images are meant to add some comedy. I want it to feel relatable and approachable. That is why I also used slang and at the end I attached some famous and well known sources that talk about this in a more approachable, less "formal" way.

My process was basically to write an idea of what the "process of breaking up " with someone is. And then started to transfer it to code. It was definitely a challenge to work with local data, but once I get the hang of it, I am sure I will use it a lot more. I also let my friends try it as I went along, I find that you can never have a lot of feedback and extra inspirations!

I was inspired by a surreal and minimalist aesthetic. One of my favorite films is "The Lobster", not because of the plot per se, but more because of the aesthetic it has. I like looking for images I had saved on my Pinterest, and adding them onto the website

If I had more time, I would have made it so that every page had a theme song, as well as a more individualized background. Also, I woul've liked to add at the end two inputs where you can put your partners name and yourself, and then for it to calculate the percentage of compatibility you had. It is funny if you have a big percentage because you just went through the process!! Just a dark humor ending is something I enjoy.
